Strange Comments

I've noticed that I have had several comments being add in the past few days. On one had I think it is cool that people I don't know are finding the site, but on the other hand, most of them are obvious spam messages.

What other conclusion can I draw when one puts their name as "Car Insurance Quotes" and the link goes to...well, you get the idea. Other people put their name and then the link will lead to a bible college or a bookstore. One recent one actually links to a Syrian website. I think the best one I have seen recently is on my review of National Treasure 2 where all the comment talks about is the value of gold. Really nothing to do with the movie (apart from them finding a city of gold).

So, here is my question to all you spammers out there. Is this your actual job? To find random blogs, make comments on the content? It reminds me of the old phone calls I used to get when people wanted me to switch my long distance carrier. They would start off like then knew me and only after a few minutes would they say, "I'm from (random phone company). "

I actually don't mind it if you leave a real comment and link to your site. That is fine. Why not just leave your comment and start off, "Hey I work for (random company). Good post, check out our latest offer on goat cheese."

spam upgrade

I went ahead and set you up with a better spam filter ... that should help on odd comments. If one gets through, just delete it.
